Most images you’ll see of Greece will feature Santorini, the rugged hill island shaped like a croissant in the centre of the Aegean. It’s said to be the lost Atlantis, but modern day Santorini is anything but primitive. With its towering cliffs topped with sugar cube cave dwellings that plunge down into the inky sea, the landscapes are as dramatic as its history and accommodation errs to the side of luxury. The island is lined with vineyards, except here the vines grow close to the ground in a wreath style.
