As a firm favourite among Dubai’s leading luxury resorts since its grand opening in 1997, the instantly recognisable Jumeirah Beach Hotel has been welcoming lucky guests into its glamorous grounds ever since. Now, as of November 2018 – following a bold move to close the entire building all summer for a glitzy top-to-bottom makeover – the much-anticipated Jumeirah Beach Hotel refurbishment is complete. Here at Infinity & Beyond Travel we have always seen this particular property (and in fact the whole Jumeirah group) as luxury pioneers of super cool, perfectly placed hotels, so thought it only right to get under the skin of their newly revamped flagship resort, in our latest blog post.

TAKING ONE OF THE BEST HOTELS IN DUBAI, AND MAKING IT BETTER

First things first, it is worth saying that prior to May 2018, when the works began, Jumeirah Beach was more than holding its own among Dubai’s most iconic luxury hotels. This is a resort that boasted over 20 fine dining and casual restaurants, poolside and lounge bars, cutting-edge décor throughout and fantastic five-star facilities for each of its 20 happy years to date, before a new vision was born in May 2018. While enviable sea views from every room or suite with luxury led large mirror, a private beach and prime location overlooking Burj Al Arab still remain at Jumeirah Beach Hotel, there’s now even more to get excited about in and around that unmistakeable, glass-clad façade.

WHAT’S NEW AT JUMEIRAH BEACH HOTEL

If you have stayed at Jumeirah Beach Hotel before and would love to go back, don’t panic, as the resort has gone out of its way to maintain the same service standards, atmosphere and experience that you know and love, just a new and improved version of it all! And for anyone yet to visit, you’re in for a treat when you do.

Beginning with the hotel’s interior design: guestrooms, suites and even Jumeirah’s entrance lobby have all been lovingly reinvented, taking a bow to their coastal setting with flecks of gold, silver, cobalt blue and white throughout, all nodding towards the surrounding sand, sea and sky respectively. This can be seen everywhere, whether in the artistic installations dangling from a high atrium ceiling or more ‘under the radar’ touches, such as columns covered in reflective glass beads and an all-new colour scheme for guestrooms. Here, in each of the 599 rooms, suites and clutch of Royal Villas, soft yellows, light blue and cream hues on the walls, bedspreads and bathroom tiles unashamedly mimic the beach scene outside, to enchanting effect.

Thankfully, the smell of fresh paint and workman’s boots has long since gone, leaving nothing but a real sparkle, clean architecture and no shortage of comfort to every polished room at Jumeirah Beach. And such contemporary décor sits in real harmony with those floor-to-ceiling windows too. The building is wrapped in them, it’s an original feature though worth noting nonetheless, for the endless ocean views alone!

Elsewhere, on top of the redesigned outdoor areas and tropical pools, an expanded swim-up bar, plush sofas on a swanky new al fresco terrace overlooking the harbour and new spa services aplenty, it is the remodelled restaurants that deserve a special mention.

WORLD CLASS RESTAURANTS AT JUMEIRAH BEACH HOTEL

Some names have changed, sure, so The Old Palm Court is now The Pearl Lounge, and Latitude becomes the intriguingly-titled Kitchen Connection, but even more importantly is what the clever bods at Jumeirah Beach Hotel have done with both the décor and, of course, the menus, that you will truly relish during any stay. There’s everything from a cosy candlelit haunt – lined with red velvet tables and chairs, thick drapes hanging from the walls and ornate chandeliers, to cutting-edge eateries serving up South American fusion food. You’ll find innovative takes on it all, and everything in between. Whether breezy beachfront cocktails as the sun begins to set or even a German-themed eatery complete with old wine barrels, traditional beer and authentically smoked Bavarian sausages, you could be in Berlin one minute and Lima the next, without needing to leave your front door; bon appetit.

REASONS TO CHOOSE JUMEIRAH

The Jumeirah Beach Hotel refurbishment has proven once again that this property, part of a wider and much-admired group of luxury resorts all over the world, are among the very best in what they do. They serve up renowned hospitality in five-star surroundings where, more often than not, the highlights of Dubai (or anywhere else for that matter) are usually on your doorstep.

Never being ones to sit back and lean on their hard-earned reputation either, the kind of attention to detail that has been paid to this luxury Dubai beach resort is extraordinary indeed, which can only be a good thing for anyone lucky enough to stay there. You still get the original hotel with its prime views of Burj Al Arab, a private beach, multiple swimming pools, family-friendly facilities and a fantastic kids club, tennis courts, waterpark access, a stunning spa, gym, and so much more. But for anyone booking a room at Jumeirah Beach Hotel from today onwards, your stay just got a lot more special.
