Madinat Jumeirah Al Naseem

OVERVIEW

Brand new to the Madinat Jumeirah complex, Al Naseem is the latest luxury opening that offers a refreshing departure from the flashy opulence of other Dubai hotels. This low-rise resort is decorated in neutral colours and natural materials like stone and wood, and beachy shades of blue and white that reflect the sea that’s right on the doorstep – ‘al naseem’ means sea breeze in Arabic.

Inside, rooms are beautifully outfitted in the same soothing tones as the rest of the resort, with sumptuous furnishings that beckon sleep and large terraces that provide additional space and an indoor-outdoor living area that’s ideal for relaxing with a drink at the end of a long day of doing not very much. Outside, the resort sits on an immaculate stretch of private beach, with sea-facing gardens designed by acclaimed architect Bill Bensley. This includes three pools (one adults-only), lots of hanging chairs for chilling out in and palm trees that line the canal-like waterways.

One of the benefits of staying at Al Naseem is the ability to use the facilities of the wider Madinat Jumeirah complex, which includes fitness facilities to rival the best gyms in the world, one of the city’s largest spas, tennis courts and over 60 restaurants.

Our Highlight

Al Naseem is home to a protected seawater lagoon for rescued sea turtles to recuperate in before being released back into the wild. You can feed them and learn about marine conservation – not something you can do at just any hotel in Dubai.

Where to stay

Each of Al Naseem’s 430 rooms features sea or garden views (both are lovely) from a large terrace or balcony, designed to offer an indoor-outdoor living space. Rooms are open-plan and decorated in soothing neutral tones, and only the Royal Suite has the kind of opulent décor that you would expect from a luxury Dubai hotel; the rest are cool and calm. Bathrooms are particularly stylish, with twin sinks, hammam-inspired wet rooms and bathtubs complete with cushions.

What to do

Al Naseem is blessed with a fantastic location in the heart of the Jumeirah complex, with the Burj Al Arab and Wild Wadi waterpark right on the doorstep. There’s a private beach too, so you won’t have to go far to get your fix of Dubai’s famously soft sands. You could spend days enjoying the facilities of the wider Madinat Jumeirah resort, walking around the Arabesque complex with its souks and tree-lined canals, or head out into the city. It’s just 10 minutes from Mall of the Emirates, and 30 minutes from the airport.
